Right Wing Top Skin Prep

Not so great at logging and photographing this work, but slowly chipped away on the right wing top skin prep when I could grab some time over the last 2 or 3 weekends.

This included deburring all the holes. Lots of holes. Skin edge deburring. Then a light scuff and clean and prime on the inside skins (as well as the J-channel stiffeners and both sides of the wing walk doubler plates).

Dimpling was started as well. It’s always a bit of a challenge lining up the die with the hole using the DRDT-2, and with these large skins, it’s even harder. So I was wondering if I could rig up a laser pointer to aim at just the right spot. Then it dawned on me that I have laser cross-hairs on my drill press, and I very rarely use that drill press for this build. Those cross-hairs will get a lot more use for a DRDT-2 dimpling aimer. So a little Gorilla tape and I was in business. The second revision will be a big improvement with adhesive backed velcro instead of Gorilla tape. Got about 1/3 of the way on the the skin dimpling.

Not a lot to say. But a lot of time consumed!
