Tailcone Right Skin

Started riveting a little more of the left tailcone to the stiffeners. Pretty much did the top row, then moved over to the right skin to do the same. On a roll, just continued with the right skin. Was able to get all three rows done alone, it was possible to reach inside with the bucking bar. It was just a little section near the front where the bottom row was a bit of a stretch (more like a pain). Then continued with riveting the frames and bulkheads to the right side skin, so the riveting on that side is nearly complete. A few small, unsightly dents for either the paint shop or my future self to fill.

Still have to finish the left side, then the next step will be to rivet the side skins to the bottom skin. I will need help with that due to the reach, and probably also some creative tailcone positioning (e.g. either upside down or on its side).

  1. Hi Chris, You are making tremendous progress to date. You will fly it this year I think. Every guy needs a man cave, and yours is as large as a HANGER. Carry on Chris.
