Left Wing Top Skins Prep Completed

This entry contains work done this weekend and prior. All the prep work for the left wing top skins has been completed. This included laborious tasks including edge deburring, hole deburring, some corner skin joint filing and sanding, dimpling and priming. Finally all skins and doubler plates have been clecoed in place. Ready for riveting!

Really glad I made my dimpler table and platform the same height as my workbenches, so that I can use the workbenches as out-tables. This was really useful with the 9′ skin (shown on sofa for scale, and because I needed a place to briefly put it!).

Everything went well, just time consuming. Oh, I did lose the female dimple die which cut some work short on the prior weekend (I knocked it off the workbench and it rolled somewhere). Decided to order a spare set, just because. The lost die turned up a few days later, hiding next to a wheel on one of the workbenches.
