Aaah, the wings. Every time I complete several steps on one, it’s time to do the same thing all over again.
So today was machine countersinking of the holes on the spar webs. Two depths, one for the nutplates, and a little deeper for the dimpled skins. This totals hundreds of holes. I have no count, but I would guess, close to 300? 156 holes for the nutplates, per the plans, then a bunch more for the skins.
I do know that there were then 78 nutplates to be riveted. 66 for the tanks (2 different styles), then 12 smaller ones for the inspection plates. So those were all riveted in place, and I called it a day.
