Posted by About a year ago, I had ordered the Van’s Lightbox kit. Along with the Toolbox, it was one of the kits I wanted to use as practice before starting the real airplane.
Well, the riveting was done, and. then it was put on a shelf. This weekend I decided to finish it. I was originally going to paint it a dark satin blue, but then changed my mind and decided to just leave it as bare aluminum. I didn’t like the shiny look on this light box, so I decided to scuff I up. I like the final look.
I also wanted to solve the problem of seeing through the cut-outs and looking directly at the LED lights. So I found a translucent piece of plastic at Home Depot and cut it to fit, and installed the lighting, and called it done!
