HS Skin Riveting

A full day riveting the horizontal stabilizer skins to the skeleton. Still more to do, it’s very time consuming, especially when taking a few breaks in the 90 degree heat. Did have the advantage of being able to open doors against two separate walls to get a bit of a cross-breeze in this corner hangar… and that was fine until the wind started picking up too much.

Skin rivets start with the front spar, and then up on the ribs with the stringers, then onto the stringers. Got those completed on all four surfaces. Then it was time to rivet the remaining ribs, and I was only to finish this on one of the four, so to be continued. Much better rivet quality (or rather, lack of dent quality) than on the tailcone. Switching to the swivel rivet head with rubber shroud is just working out much better for solo rivet work.
