HS Build Resumes

First build session after moving to the new hangar, resuming work on the horizontal stabilizer.

Today was spent building the 4 cradles called for in the plans with some spare wood and aluminum angle.

Then I refabricated a bracket. Got to use my Diablo miter saw blade, which cut through the aluminum angle like butter and left a nice clean cut. I had decided to get a blade for this saw for aluminum cutting after not wanting to use the band saw anymore for thick/large pieces of aluminum. The bracket was remade because the older one had a couple of flaws… wavy cut lines from the bandsaw blade, a deep nick (not pictured), and a slight edge distance issue with one of the 3/16″ holes.

Then the angle brackets were riveted to the horizontal stabilizer front spar.
