Rudder Rear Spar

The receipt of the backordered parts also unblocks me on the rudder. I also used a plethora of different types of rivets today.

There are two doubler plates and a couple of rudder striker plates that I deburred and primed, then attached to the rear spar. The doubler plates also require nutplates in the installation. Those were all attached using universal head 1/8″ rivets.

Then it was time to install the rudder rear spar to the rudder itself. This was done by riveting the spar to the shear clips of the rudder assembly using LP4-3 pull rivets.

Then the little striker plates needed to be installed with countersunk rivets, both a solid rivet and a flat head pull rivet (CS4-4).
