I shifted part of my work afternoon today so that I could go and pick up a package I’d been awaiting with anticipation. The backordered parts from my empennage kit! They arrived almost 3 months after I received the empennage kit. It was only a small box with a few parts in it. But there was a very important baggie of brackets that was blocking my completion of a number of subassemblies (e.g. vertical stabilizer, rudder). I had jumped forward to the tailcone for this very reason.
So since I was near the hangar, spent a couple of hours taking inventory of the kit, and then working on a couple of tailcone bulkhead pieces.
I riveted the doubler plates on the F-1010 bulkhead that I had prepped and primed (primered?) yesterday. Then I reached into the baggie of brackets and pulled out the rudder cable bracket that allowed me to mark the F-1008 bulkhead as completed!
