Rudder Trailing Edge & Tailcone Drilling

A mixed bag day. First, I riveted up the trailing edge of the rudder. The trailing edge is straight, and that’s what counts. I used my special trailing edge rivet set for use with the pneumatic squeezer. For some reason, I did not get completely consistent results, and I’m not completely sure why. The manufactured head side looks great, but the “acorn” side is not 100% consistent, and there’s very slight skin deformation around some of the rivets (slightly beyond the dimple). I’ll put it aside for a day or two and have a fresh look, and may re-squeeze or replace any I’m not satisfied with.

That was the quick part. The slow part of the day was the time consuming task of match drilling and clecoing the three J-channel stiffeners on the right side of the tailcone, probably ~300 holes.
