In these early days, I’m also working on practice pieces, setting up the shop, learning how to use certain tools, etc. so I know my hours logged are not going to be super precise, but logging hours on the build process is not an FAA requirement. However, keeping a builder’s log of all the tasks completed is, essentially to verify that amateur builders did actually build the aircraft (and not a commercial operation). A plus is to include pictures of me working on the project. So here we are.
Today was roughly an hour of work re-learning how to adjust and use a counter-sink cage, and practicing on some scrap before drilling the first officially countersunk holes in the project, in the rudder horn (which, yes, needs more edge deburring).
Also cleco’d the bottom rib assembly together and set up a radiant heater for those cold Northern California nights 😉
