Posted by Today was the day the Empennage Kit got delivered. It all went very smoothly. This was just three weeks after ordering the kit, which was quite impressive, as four weeks is normally quoted as the lead time which doesn’t include shipping. It was shipped FedEx Freight, and the driver called me when he was at the airport. I met him and let him in the gate, and led him to my hangar. It was a little awkward contorting it onto the liftgate, but it was light enough to manually twist and slide as needed. Once it was off the truck, a hangar neighbor came by and offered to help, and the three of us were easily able to just lift and carry the 300 pounds of it a few feet into the hangar rather than having the driver negotiate the pallet jack over the hangar door tracks and have to twist it 90 degrees.
